WESTWOOD, Mass (March, 5, 2008): Firefighters having access to critical emergency operation data prior to

arriving at the accident scene can do their jobs more effectively, which can be the difference between life and

death.  Thanks to a $7,138 grant, the Westwood Fire Department will be receiving two Panasonic Toughbook®

computers to store this vital information.

Marketing Associates Insurance Agency, Inc. and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company have partnered to award

the grant.

The computers, in conjunction with the appropriate software, can store essential data such as: fire plans, street

and hydrant locations, occupancy information, and incident management reports that includes information on

hazardous materials.  In addition, they are shock resistant and designed to withstand extreme temperatures, with

the ability to operate between 20 and 140 degrees.

“When responding to emergencies, every second counts and these computers will allow us to be better prepared

when arriving at the scene,” states William Scoble, Westwood Fire Chief.  “I want to thank Marketing Associates

Insurance Agency and Fireman’s Fund for recognizing a critical need of our department.”

“Being that I am a resident of Westwood and very active in the community, it brings me great pleasure to support

the fire department in such a tangible way,” states Michael Susco, Chairman and CEO for Marketing Associates

Insurance Agency.  “These computers aren’t luxury items—they are essential tools that will make the

Westwood community safer.”

Local officials, Chief Scoble and Westwood firefighters, along with executives from Marketing Associates

Insurance Agency and Fireman’s Fund, will come together for a special public event where the grant

packages will be presented.

local fire departments.  Since 2004, Fireman’s Fund has issued grants to hundreds of different departments totaling
