Our primary focus in the beginning was to get control of our existing open claims and ultimately driving the reserves on open claims down. Our claims efforts were spent in coordinating exceptional medical care for our injured employees while creating and implementing a functional return to work program. The claims, loss prevention, and nurse case management services of WCS have dropped our experience modification factor from 1.76 to .87 in a four year time period. We expect and will see even greater savings to our NCCI experience modification factor in 2009.

Loss prevention services have been a cornerstone to our success. We have instituted a functional injury prevention team whose focus has been on injury prevention and risk mitigation. Our Kingdom Kare team with the guidance of our WCS team has dropped our frequency of injury by 70%. Our staff is more productive, we have less turn over, and our residents are much happier with consistent staff levels. Quality of resident care benefits have been realized across all our facilities.
